Version 1.8 of the Babel Reader now Published

The Babel Reader is now available in version 1.8 for download. Just head to „Updates“ in the iPhone’s or iPad’s App Store app to get the latest release.

What’s New

You can now save your place anywhere in a book with bookmarks — give each one a name in your own words, and jump straight back to it later. Your bookmarks sync across all your devices via iCloud.

The Babel Reader has now seven UI languages, including Polish, and the app is ready for iOS 27 and iPadOS 27.

Improvements & Bug Fixes

More of the interface is now translated in every language — the „About“ and welcome screens, previously English for everyone, are now localized too. Reading progress is also more accurate: the „% read“ figure is now weighted by how much text each chapter actually contains, so a cover page or a short list of characters no longer counts as much as a full chapter. This update also fixes body text appearing bold in some EPUBs that misuse bold markup, and removes the dark flash that could appear when opening the „Translate from“ and „Translate into“ pickers on a dark reading theme.
